Welcome to the Department of Applied Mathematics. Our department has a rich legacy, originating in 1953, and has since grown into a premier center for research and education in applied mathematics, data science, and modelling & simulation. We are committed to academic excellence and the development of innovative solutions to complex problems in areas such as numerical analysis, machine learning, optimization, and fluid dynamics. Our faculty, with extensive experience and expertise, strives to provide a dynamic learning environment that equips students to excel in academia, industry, and defence.

We are proud to offer specialized MTech and MSc programmes designed to meet the evolving needs of data-driven research and technological advancements. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to our alumni network—comprising distinguished researchers, scientists, armed forces officers, and academicians—who continuously contribute to enriching our curriculum and research.
